October Mentorship

Every October I dedicate time to mentorship, usually with a handful of folks one-on-one and offline. This year, I’m doing it differently.

All month long I’ll be posting about the topics I normally cover in private sessions: freelancing myths, creative career strategies, audio engineering insights, and what I’ve learned from both wins and mistakes. Along the way, I’ll be linking to some of the best people out there doing incredible work, so you’ll discover new voices too.

There is no fee for access, no funnel to a paid subscription, no hidden motive other than its my own motivation to push back on the ugliness in the world right now: galvanize and empower people to make great art.

Mentorship matters to me because I’ve been fortunate to learn from so many mentors of my own: teachers like Jim Robinson, Joan Hermes, and Chris Skibbens, and audio engineers and producers like David Spargur, Joe Bright, and Steve Albini.

I’m not here to put myself on a pedestal as “the expert.” I’m here to share, demystify, and reconnect with friends old and new. If you are interested in hiring me for your project, you can contact me here or through my website.

Follow along here on Substack, or sign up for my newsletter at quiethouserecording.com/newsletter.

Thanks for being part of this journey. Let’s make October about learning and pushing ourselves forward.
