Dereck Blackburn is a producer, mix, and mastering engineer based on Boston’s North Shore. He has worked with artists such as Ship Burial, Mint Green, Lincoln Durham, Le Couteau, and HUSBANDS, bringing a balance of creativity, technical precision, and reliability to every project. Known for inspiring great performances, innovative engineering techniques, and keeping sessions on track, Dereck has earned the trust of both emerging artists and established acts.
His career has taken him through many renowned studios, experiences that shaped his philosophy of combining artistry with discipline. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Audio Engineering Society: Boston Section and as a member of the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing: New York Chapter. He also hosts The High Pass Podcast, where he shares conversations with fellow creatives.
In 2023 and 2024, Dereck was nominated Producer of the Year and Studio Engineer of the Year at both the Boston Music Awards and the New England Music Awards. A certified engineer at The Recording Co., he regularly works out of Studio B while running his own private studio, Quiethouse Recording.
